Things (people?) That Make You Say, "Hmmmmm..."

Had a bit of back & forth today with a "journalist" requesting an interview for a website that states it is in no way affilitated with Align Tech, but is promoting Invisalign. They stated their four employees were "funded by a network of dentists" ("about six" I was told) who offer special discounts & gifts to those who opt for treatment...but is not in any way a commercial venture. Hmmmmmm...

A quote from my blog was posted in their list of "Invisalign blogs we like" (right below the special offer) & I was told I had benefitted from their "free publicity". I was not asked if free publicity was something I was interested in. For the record - I'm not.

I was asked today if I'd rather my link was removed.  I'd rather it was thanks.

You can read the back & forth in the running Comments attached to the previous post below - at least you can read the "back" as the "forth" was removed today by the author (right after he removed my link from their website).

Thanks for that, Blake - I really do appreciate it.

Hi!! Funny, I was just wondering if you blogged anymore at all since you're done so I popped in. I didn't mind my stuff being referred to there (since that was why I created the blog) , but I did kind of wonder what they all think now that Invisalign totally failed in my case and I'm in regular braces - LOL. I'd expected them to remove my stuff.

Hey Dawna - sorry to hear you had to switch to conventionals. Seems that tipping issue into extraction spaces is a common problem with Invisalign. I'm sure your smile will end up being as beautiful as you initially wanted - you're almost there! Do keep us posted.

Pricey - not much to report on these days. My retainment has gone without a hitch so far, so I've become a very boring case. I will post from time to time just to let everyone know how it goes over an extended period, though.

Strange about the forum - wondered why there hadn't been any new postings in the past few days. One other time I can recall there were problems - the entire board was shut down (albeit temporarily) when a hacker caused some problems. No problems up 'til now with this newer format, though. I'm sure the bugs will get worked out.

It's just annoying, ain't it?!

Hope all is going well with you -
see you at the forum.

Forgot to say - I see that antibraces site has gone absolutely nowhere since the first couple of weeks it went up.

No big surprise there...
wonder where all those other(ha!) supposed bloggers are?!

Are you still checking this blog, or is there a better way of getting in contact with you? Your blog seems very helpful, and I'd like to have access to your brain if I have any questions for you. :)

Hi anne, that is so funny about that Blake dude. He also emailed me through my blog and wanted to "interview" me. I was really really bad about emailing him back because I was like hmm if you want to know what I went through I pretty much wrote all my invisalign ordeal in my blog get my info there. Last time he emailed me was to ask me to write him back with my experience and it doesnt have to be soon. lol I still haven't emailed him. Your teeth look great. I had to have full braces and I finally got them off last month. I didn't get any retainer but wires bonded to the backs of my bottom and top teeth. The bottom one I don't notice but the top one is most annoying. Havent checked the dentistry message board in months.
